Ride The Verdon’s Grand Canyon expedition is likeclimbing a mountaineering peak. This highly committed, exceptional route is renowned the world over, with breathtaking passages where the emerald-green river sometimes rushes under the cliffs in total darkness.
Over a distance of 25 kms, between the Var and the Alpes de Haute Provence, this tough descent will challenge and dazzle you.
The Haute-Provence Geopark is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its beauty is unparalleled.

Aboard a tandem river kayak (if you are alone) or our mini raft, you will ride down the gorges accompanied by your guide, gliding on the turquoise waters of the Verdon from Castellane to the lake of Sainte Croix in Provence- Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
Those wishing to take part in this adventure should expect a very physical day, full of emotions.
A critical device is necessary to realize this expedition: in addition to the guide, two safety kayaks (2 additional instructors) will accompany us to ensure the safety of the crew when crossing the rapids. This is a fantastic experience that Ride The Verdon offers ONLY OUTSIDE JULY/AUGUST.
To be able to start the adventure, it is imperative to:
- know how to swim
- be at least 18 years old
- exercise daily
- be in very good physical condition
- have already done Aqua Rando “Classic” with Ride The Verdon
- a desire for adventure
